Thanks giving with Tim&Moby
Moby made a terrible soup for thanks giving, but what started thanks giving? You might know the pilgrims. The pilgrims are people who are from England that seek freedom and rights for people. They set out on a ship named the Mayflower and landed in Plymouth Massachusetts in 1620.
But, before the pilgrims, an American Indian tribe named the Wampanoag lived in Massachusetts, and Rhode island. When the pilgrims arrived, they were not ready for the American wilderness. The pilgrims had a very bad time. Their seed won't grow, they can't hunt nor fish and many pilgrims died within the first year.
Then, one English speaking Wampanoag named Squanto decided to help the pilgrims. His tribe taught the pilgrims how to hunt, fish, take medical plant, grow corn, and build houses. The pilgrims were very happy and they decided to celebrate with a feast in November 27th. The pilgrim leader asked the Indian leader to come and join the feast. But the pilgrims were not ready for the 90 Indians that came to the feast, so the Indian leader told his men to hunt so everyone can eat. Together, the pilgrims and the Wampanoag set up a treaty and the Indians allowed the pilgrims to build their first town in Plymouth. It was a very wonderful time for two kinds of people to sit together in one dinner table. But sadly, the friendship did not last.
More settlers came and forced the Indians out of their homes. Squanto was also killed. It was a very cruel thing. But some Wampanoag is still living in Massachusetts today. Well, happy thanks giving!

Sponges with Tim&Moby
Moby found some salt water sponges while he was skinny dipping yesterday. But the truth is that sponges can survive in salt water and fresh water. Sponges belong to a animal kingdom called invertebrates, that is animals without bones. Crabs and centipedes are also invertebrates. The real name for a sponge is called Porifera phylum, weird name Hun. Sponges are very simply structured animals. Adult sponges are sessile, which means they stay in one place for their entire life. A sponge's body is made of cells in two layers. Also, sponges are filter feeders, which means they collect food from water that pass through them. Small amounts of oxygen and food are carried into the central of the sponge where little organs called flagella keep water moving in and out of the sponge. Other specialized cells digest food, spread it across the body, and let the water carry out the waste. Human cells does the same thing. Fishes and other predators will not eat sponges sometimes because some have hard, spike like spicules and a tough spongion skeleton. That is right, when sponges die, people use them as bath sponges. Sponges offspring in two ways. The asexual way is to have a little sponge grow on the side of an adult and let the current carry it off and then anchor itself in a new place. New sponges can grow from pieces of a broken sponge, that's like what a starfish does. The other way is to produce two gametes, gametes are reproductive cells. The sponge push out the two gametes at the same time. over time, the gametes merge together and that begins a fertilization. That is also like plants making pollination. Sponges are some interesting animals.

Giant squids with Tim&Moby
A giant squid is a mysterious animal that lives 1,000 feet under the sea. They are pretty hard to find. A giant squid is just a 16meter version of it's cousin, the regular squid, which is less than 1meter. Like all squids, the giant squid belong to a family of animals called the mollusks, a family of boneless animals like snails, squids, octopuses, clams, and oysters. The giant squid has some of the largest eyes in the animal kingdom, as big as a football. When sailors first explored the sea, they came back with crazy tales. One of them was that some giant tentacles reach out of the water and pull your ship down below the waves. Many people believed is the monster Scylla from the Greek mythology. Others believe is the Kraken from the of the Norwegian legends. They might all be based on the giant squid. Like all mollusks, the giant squid has a mantle, or a bulk of skin that protects the weaker parts of the squid's body. To support the mantle, it rely on a organ that stays forever called a gladius, a blade like structure. Giant squids also have the muscular feet common to all mollusks, except it is reduced now to two long tentacles and eight shorter tentacles. The giant squid uses the tentacles to catch prey like large fish or other squids. The tentacles are all covered in hundreds of suction cups, each with a ring of teeth around the edges. The giant squid use the tentacles to move the prey toward the biting range of the squid's beak-like mouth. After chomping off some part of the prey, food are passed through the radula, a hard tongue that many mollusks all have. Then the food is transported into the esophagus. But no worries, the giant squid don't usually eat people or robots. They do have one enemy, that is the sperm whale. The scientists found squid beaks in the whale's stomach and suction cups marks on their bodies. Now scientists follow the whales on their hunting trips to see the giant squids. Giant squids are some interesting animals! Moby is scared.

Dinosaurs with Tim&Moby
The word dinosaurs means terrible lizards. They existed 165million years ago. They died out 5million years ago, way before humans came. So some prehistoric movies might be false. You can find dinosaurs as big as 30meters or as small as a chicken. You can also find dinosaurs with scaly skin, plated skin, horns, and even frills. They can be in all shapes and sizes. Some walk on four legs and some on two. They might live on land, in the sea, and some can even fly! Dinosaurs are very interesting creatures. We can study a lot about them by using the fossils that we found today like Dino skeletons, foot print fossils, droppings, and eggs. Some dinosaurs can be fast, some can be slow. Dinosaurs ruled the earth about 160 million years and was called the most successful animals that ever lived. But 160 million years later, they bite the dust. Most scientists believe a large meteorite hit the earth and killed the dinosaurs. But for whatever reason, dinosaurs are still always fun things to study, just for fun. But the dinosaurs have not died out completely, scientists think some small meat eating dinosaurs have evolved into birds. Dinosaurs are some interesting creatures. Who wants to play fool's ball?

Columbus day with Tim and Moby
Christopher Columbus was a business man who sponsored a lot of trades and made a pretty good living. But then, he wanted to get richer by finding a closer trading route to Asia. Columbus's mistake was that he thought the earth was too small. He thought that Spain and Japan was less than 4,000 km apart. But the truth was more than 19,000 km apart.Anyway, the queen and king of Spain sponsored his journey.once he landed at the Caribbean Sea, he encountered a native American tribe called the Arawak. Though Columbus refer them as Indians since he is sure he landed in India. The Arawak was kind to Columbus, But Columbus did not return their kindness. Many was sold as slaves. Columbus forced the Arawak to bring him gold, is they did not bring enough, death. Columbus was captured and brought back to Spain and faced criminal charges. But the king and queen let him go and sponsored his next trip. People say what Columbus did was cruel. But his accomplishments totally changed the course of history!! So is a bit complicated. But that does not mean that Columbus,Ohio is the coolest city ever! You get to ride Komodo dragons!!!
